Outside plant (OSP) is cabling that runs outside buildings — through telecom manholes, underground ducts, joint bays, road and rail tunnels and along expressways. Fiber Tech Solutions installs, joints, tests and repairs OSP fibre across Singapore, with crews trained and equipped for confined-space, trackside and live-tunnel environments, working night engineering hours across the rail, power and water networks.

What the service covers

OSP work is defined by where it happens rather than what it joins. The cable is the same; the access, the permits, the safety regime and the working hours are not.

Working in live infrastructure

Much of this work happens in places that cannot be shut down. Crews are trained and equipped for confined-space, trackside and live-tunnel environments and routinely work night engineering hours — the only window when rail and road tunnels are available.

On the sewerage tunnel project Fiber Tech Solutions was appointed specialist fibre sub-contractor supervising fibre installation across 30 km of tunnel for the main tunnel contractors, covering all splicing, testing and sensor-cable repair.

MRT — Downtown, Thomson, Circle and NSEW lines

Underground fibre at Gali Batu and Kim Chuan depots; power and fibre optic cabling in operational tunnels and stations; termination, testing and ODF supply.

Water works

Lay, terminate and test power, fibre, data and signal cables at Ulu Pandan, Changi, Choa Chu Kang and Kranji Water Works; SCADA fibre at Tuas Desalination Plant and Lorong Halus Wetlands.
