Substation and SCADA fibre cabling in Singapore

Fiber Tech Solutions is the fibre and signal-cabling subcontractor for Singapore power substations and SCADA-linked plant — island-wide, including cable tunnels and live power environments. We install signal cables, fibre and LV cables, supply related cable support, joint and terminate fibre, and hand over tested links for utility project managers, substation main contractors, and SCADA/communications OEMs. The company holds IMDA Wiring Contractor (Class) Licence No. IW105464, and crews are trained and equipped for confined-space, trackside and live-tunnel environments.

What the service covers

This page sells the power and utility vertical as the product: work inside and between substations and SCADA-linked plant — not a generic office LAN job and not every outdoor duct job.

If the job is primarily outdoor ducts, manholes or multi-vertical tunnels without a substation or SCADA context, start with outside plant (OSP). If the job is primarily joining fibre with no utility access context, see fusion splicing and termination. If the fibre is down and you need a crew now, go to emergency fibre repair.

Working in live power and confined-space environments

Substation and cable-tunnel fibre work is not daytime building cabling. Crews are trained and equipped for confined-space, trackside and live-tunnel environments and work night engineering hours across Singapore’s rail, power and water networks — the typical access regime when operational plant and tunnels are available. That operating model is why utility packages need a specialist sub who already works under those constraints. We do not invent outage-window guarantees or unpublished SLAs; we scope access against what your site permits.

Substations, cable tunnels and utility plant we have worked on

Proof below is taken from Fiber Tech’s live site only. We do not invent utility contract numbers, approved-vendor status or expanded substation counts.

Power substations — island-wide

Sub-contractor installing signal cables, cable support systems and LV cables across 100+ substations.

Cable tunnels / SCADA

Jointing of 24 & 36-core fibre in joint bays and cable tunnels serving SCADA, fire protection, communications and RF systems.

Jurong Island — Power Plant

Fibre optic termination for a power plant on Jurong Island.

Water works / SCADA fibre

Lay, terminate and test power, fibre, data and signal cables at Ulu Pandan, Changi, Choa Chu Kang and Kranji Water Works; SCADA fibre at Tuas Desalination Plant and Lorong Halus Wetlands.

Labrador Tower — Utility HQ

Cable tray installation, cabling and termination for the Mechanical Control System (MCS) and Chilled Water Control Panel (CWCP) systems, with full point-to-point testing.

PSA / substations adjacency

Fibre from substations to PSA cranes with jointing at crane turnover pits — related utility / substation-adjacent fibre, not a claim about substation interiors alone.

Substation yard vs cable-tunnel SCADA routes

Substation yard scopes often combine signal and LV cabling with tray and containment inside the compound. Cable-tunnel SCADA routes emphasise fibre jointing at the core counts already stated on site — 24 and 36-core — serving SCADA, fire protection, communications and RF. Both still need a clear mix of fibre vs signal vs LV, install vs terminate vs test decisions, and a test plan for handover.

Testing and handover on substation fibre

Fiber Tech Solutions owns and operates OTDRs and optical power meters for certification and fault-finding. Testing already sits inside our water-works and utility HQ proof (including point-to-point testing at Labrador Tower). For a dedicated planned test pack — traces, loss tables, pass/fail against agreed limits — see OTDR testing and fibre certification. Leadership includes a Director certified by The Fiber Optic Association as CFOT and CFOS/T (testing specialist).

Licensed and certified

FAQ

What substation and SCADA fibre work does Fiber Tech Solutions do?

Signal cables, fibre and LV cabling plus cable support inside and between Singapore power substations; fibre laying, jointing and termination; cable-tunnel fibre serving SCADA, fire protection, communications and RF; testing and handover documentation; related utility plant fibre where required.

Have you worked across power substations in Singapore?

Yes. Sub-contractor installing signal cables, cable support systems and LV cables across 100+ power substations island-wide, as stated on site.

Do you joint fibre in cable tunnels that serve SCADA systems?

Yes — jointing of 24 & 36-core fibre in joint bays and cable tunnels serving SCADA, fire protection, communications and RF systems.

Do you install cable trays and containment inside substations?

Yes, as part of substation scope. For tray, trunking and conduit as the product, see cable support systems.

How is this different from outside-plant (OSP) cabling?

OSP answers outdoor ducts, manholes and multi-vertical tunnels broadly. This page answers work inside and between power substations and SCADA-linked plant — signal, fibre, LV and related containment. Non-substation outdoor scope stays on OSP.

Can you test and certify the fibre after installation?

Yes. Company-owned OTDRs and optical power meters; Director FOA CFOT and CFOS/T. Dedicated planned packs: OTDR testing and fibre certification.

Do you work night engineering hours on power network sites?

Yes. Crews are trained for confined-space, trackside and live-tunnel environments and work night engineering hours across Singapore’s rail, power and water networks. No invented SLAs.

Are you IMDA-licensed for telecommunications wiring work?

Yes — IMDA Wiring Contractor (Class) Licence No. IW105464, held since 2014 with no expiry.
